Many people hesitate to talk because they fear being judged, misunderstood or seen differently. They may worry that their problems are not serious enough or feel guilty because others appear to be facing greater difficulties.
However, emotional pain is not a competition. Whatever you are experiencing deserves to be acknowledged.
Counselling provides a private and supportive environment where you can talk about the things that may feel difficult to discuss elsewhere. This might include relationship problems, grief, childhood experiences, anxiety, low self-esteem, identity, anger, loneliness or feelings you do not yet fully understand.
A counsellor will not expect you to share more than you feel ready to discuss. Trust often develops gradually, and you remain in control of what you choose to explore.
